The establishment of an endowment fund can be very meaningful for those who become the recipient of growth from the fund.
This has been true of the Jennifer “Jenny” Anne Keesey Memorial Fund. This fund was developed by the parents of Jenny and her many friends. Proceeds from the fund provide dollars for a tennis scholarship. The scholarship may be used to assist with funds for registration for a tennis camp or for individual tennis lessons.
The success of the first two recipients has been well documented in articles in the Minot Daily News. A recent article pictured Halie Hall and Erin Black as they begin play at the State Girls’ Doubles Tournament. Both of the athletes had a successful season. According to the News, they are “Super sophs,” and have many games to play in the coming tennis seasons.
The scholarship this year was presented to Megan Sherven. The Minot Public School Foundation wishes continued success to members of the Minot High School Tennis team.
Other foundation endowments include: Bill Kane Fund (drama), Duane Carlson Fund (athletics), Graving Memorial Music Fund (music), Lisa Babb-Gross Fund (foreign language), and Margreatt Johnstone Davis Endowment Fund (scholarships). These funds are open for additional contributions. Other funds may be developed.
